Situation

This client is a Nebraska nonprofit focused on sports and wellness programming. Its mission is to provide quality competition for amateur athletes of all ages and abilities, promote healthy and active lifestyle choices, and manage events across the state. Publicly, the organization describes itself as a leader in sports and wellness event management in Nebraska and notes that it has helped more than half a million people participate in affordable competition and wellness opportunities over nearly 40 years.

With that kind of event history and community reach, participant data had built up across multiple Excel files over nearly 20 years. The records were valuable, but the structure was not consistent from file to file.
